Women Scientist Scheme(WOS-A) of Department of Science and Technology running at JECRC

JECRC University hosts an annual meeting of the ‘Women Scientists Scheme (WOS-A)’ of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. More than 90 women participants across the country had presented their progress reports to avail scholarship of more than 5 crores.

Through this endeavor, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) is providing opportunities to women scientists and technologists between the age group of 30-50 years who desire to return to mainstream science and work as bench-level scientists.

The main aim of this conduct is to provide opportunities to women scientists and technologists for pursuing research in basic or applied sciences in frontier areas of science and engineering. Grants for more than 5 crore would be assigned to the various women scientist under this scheme and a special provision has been made under this Scheme to encourage those women scientists who have had break-in-career.

More than 85 scholars have participated in this meeting from the entire nation. It will provide a launch pad for them to return to mainstream science and work as bench-level scientists in the field of science and technology.

Government of Rajasthan (GoR) solemnized an event in Birla Auditorium keeping in mind the end goal to observe Rajasthan IT Day on March 21, 2016 by temperance of advancing IT new businesses in the state. As Startups have given another measurement of development to our nation, GoR recognized the impulse driven by little innovation driven enterprise, contributing in producing livelihood and income commencement. Renaissance 16 on its Day 4 has witnessed some unbelievable composition from students which left the audience awestruck at Jaipur Engineering College & Research Centre (JECRC), which is a private university situated at the pink city, Rajasthan where top engineers of the nation blossoms.

Some students presented their extraordinary brilliance through their active science projects followed by presentations along with others who arranged a unique race of remote control cars to run at 240 kmph and again enjoy wispy games like pillow fight in its unique way. While few did not miss the chance to flaunt their dance moves in open area, yet there was another crowd cheering for those mesmerizing vocals who took the audience on stride.

Amit Agarwal mentions with pride that the students learn different aspects beyond books and seminars through these kinds of events. Convincing sponsors, showcasing talent, exploiting the opportunity and feeling of acknowledgment and accomplishments come with ease in these kinds of programs and is necessary for a student before hammering out deal in the real world.
